When asked about George Marshall, President Truman said this: “I don’t think in this age in which I have lived, that there has been a man who has been a greater administrator; a man with a knowledge of military affairs equal to General Marshall.”
He got this way by being an avid reader and a student of history, spending a good deal of time in his library reading.
